Fresno City captures 2026 Central Valley Conference Softball championship; All-CVC postseason awards announced

In a battle that came down to the wire, Fresno City College edged College of the Sequoias by one game for the 2026 Central Valley Conference softball championship.

FCC and COS had shared the conference title the past two seasons, but the Rams earned the outright title with a 16-2 record while the Giants finished second at 15-3. The CVC championship marked the sixth straight for Fresno City.

Taft was third in the final standings with a 9-9 mark, followed by Merced (7-9), Reedley (5-11), Coalinga (5-13), and Porterville (4-14).

Fresno City (26-10), Sequoias (29-8-1), and Taft (24-15-1) all qualified for the upcoming 3C2A Northern California Regional Playoffs. COS earned the conference's top seed at No. 6 and will host American River College in a best-of-three-game first-round series that runs May 1-2. | REGIONALS BRACKET

Fresno City received the No. 9 seed and travels to No. 8 Feather River College while No. 14 Taft heads to No. 3 San Joaquin Delta College. Winners advance to a second-round series.

Teams are battling to earn one of four spots from the region and advance to the 3C2A State Championships at Bakersfield College on May 14-17.

2026 ALL-CVC POSTSEASON AWARDS
Fresno City's Linda Garza was named Central Valley Conference Coach of the Year while sophomore Sara Barbosa was selected Pitcher of the Year to highlight top honors by the Rams. And Taft freshman Keona Comilang took home the CVC Player of the Year award.
