CLOVIS – History was made on Tuesday as Clovis Community College fielded a men's tennis team for the first time in school history.

Men's tennis is the second of three new sports at CCC that have or will launch during the 2025-26 athletics season. This past fall, the women's volleyball team had a successful inaugural season by compiling a 14-10 overall record, a second-place Central Valley Conference showing, and a berth into the Northern California Regional Playoffs.

Also competing for the first time later this spring is the women's tennis team. Both the men's and women's squads are under the direction of head coach Sadhaf Pucher (pictured, below).

Pucher brings over 18 years of experience developing junior, collegiate, and pro tennis players. She has extensive experience at the NCAA Division I level after coaching at The Ohio State University, University of Nebraska, Princeton University, Drake University, and most recently at Southern Utah University.

Although the men's team suffered a 9-0 loss to visiting Bakersfield College in its opening match, there is still lots of opportunity for growth and improvement during the season.

The Clovis men are back in action on Feb. 10 when they host Modest Junior College at noon. The Crush women's tennis team will also make its home debut as well, taking on the Modesto women at that same time. All Crush home matches are played at nearby Clovis North High School.
