Clovis Community College had three of the top six runners and won the women's team title at the 2018 Central Valley Conference Championships. The event took place on Oct. 26 at Woodward Park in Fresno.

Clovis was the lone squad to compete with a five-member team and was named conference champion for the first time.

Lidia Briseno of College of the Sequoias won the women's individual championship thanks to her time of 20:33 on the 3.1 mile-course. Clovis' Natalie Curtis was second with 21:08, Courtney Santos of COS was third at 21:19, while Ellie Nardella (22:10) and Alyssa Canales of Clovis finished fifth and sixth, respectively.

Justine Lubbers was Fresno City's top finisher as she came in sixth place with a time of 22:40.

The Clovis women's squad has qualified for next week's Northern California Regional Championships that are set for Nov. 2 at Shasta College in Redding. Sequoias and Fresno will also send individual runners to the regional meet as well.
